Sarah’s Signology Club Family Fun Day, 2026
The stage was set, the venue was ready…. On a hot summer’s day in Crayford Kent, The Haberdashers’ Academy in Crayford Kent hosted the first Sarah’s Signology Club Old Skool Sports and Family Fun Day in memory of Michael Colget, one of the Club’s dearest friends and supporters who sadly passed away in December 2025.
And what a HUGE success it was! We had games which included the Egg and Spoon race, sack race, bean bag toss, tug of war, obstacle course the Three-Legged-Race and the much contested Skipping Race - the only time in known history to result in a photo finish!
The stocks were a great attraction, and it has to be said the water buckets were also very tempting - and very full!
All events were held in great spirit with friendly rivalry ensuing, and much hilarity throughout. Some dubious tactics during the Three Legged Race from our host Mr Wheatly and his team, but we'll overlook it as he kindly let us use the venue for the day! And who can forget the Ice Bucket Challenge, undertaken by our Esteemed Leader herself, Flo in aid of the club.
The Michael Colget Memorial Shield was presented to our winning team The Bucking Brilliants - a name which will haunt our DJ Nick Saalfeld for years, I should imagine...! The Champs came in second place and third place was The Minions.
As mentioned, huge huge thanks to Steve Wheatley for allowing us to use Haberdashers' School in Crayford for the event and of course to the Leadership Group for your hard work on the day.
All told, before costs, we raised over £200 for the club - we cannot thank you enough for your kind donations, raffle ticket purchases and drinks bought on the day.
There were so many amazing memories and brilliant photos, we've picked the best of the bunch on our Facebook page here.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
